What is concrete?

Concrete slabs can be utilized as a structural component for buildings. Concrete slabs are a dense, flat, horizontal concrete floor which is usually used for roofing or as a floor. In addition concrete slabs are employed to build the flooring of some homes as a foundation support foundation, or directly on the soil.

Our Concrete Slab Installation Process

Concrete slab installation is a challenge when you don't have the necessary knowledge and experience. Port St. Lucie Concrete Contractors follows the strict process of installing concrete slabs.

Our top priority is safety when working on concrete construction projects. Before any project is started it is made sure that we be equipped with the proper safety equipment. Eye protection, long sleeves, long pants, rubber boots gloves and gloves form parts of our safety gear. They protect us from concrete splashes that can be harmful to our overall health and well-being.

We follow the steps listed below as part of the process:

Step 1 - Onsite Preparation

We follow the same process regardless of the size project it is. We always begin by clearing the site for any projects we do. Before we begin, we clear up all garbage and tidy up the area. As part of our preparation we ensure that all materials are present at the location. The supply of the materials is scheduled prior to the actual work begins. This helps us start and complete the work on time.

Step 2: Build Concrete Forms and Reinforce Concrete Slabs using Stahl

After the site has been cleaned and is ready for installation Wire mesh is used to install concrete forms. Concrete forms function as a solid wall to hold the concrete mix in position. It makes concrete form solid and holds the concrete mix. For concrete reinforcement using reinforced concrete, we mix it by using rebar. This allows for stronger concrete surfaces.

Step 3: Mixing Concrete Mix

We use a concrete truck to help us with our work. It ensures that concrete materials are properly mixed. Sometimes, we do manual mixing. A concrete mixer is required for the majority of projects.

Step 4: Pouring Concrete

After the concrete has been mixed, we immediately pour concrete into the form. It's crucial that we make the concrete mix in a careful manner to avoid air pockets. Air pockets can form because there isn't enough mortar available to fill the spaces around the aggregate. As we pour concrete, it is essential that we evenly distribute the mix across the form, not missing one spot.
